Hello friends! I’m Eugene, the owner and operator of Pawsome Pups. If you give me a minute, I would like to share my story on how my passion for dogs began.

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, I always loved dogs, ever since I was a little kid. While my friends played football, video games, collected bugs and read books, I, on the other hand, was always outside playing with my dogs. When I turned 9 my mom helped me breed my first litter of puppies, and we took out an ad in our local newspaper called The Columbus Dispatch. From that moment on I knew that dogs would always be a big part of my life.

I’m much older now, I’m married and have a beautiful family. Still living in Columbus, Ohio, and still passionate about dogs. I’ve been a responsible breeder for all my life and have always made sure that my dogs are healthy and happy. I’m passionate about dogs, and love nothing more than seeing the joy they bring to people’s lives.

Although I no longer breed dogs, my knowledge and experience from being a breeder, has helped me to continue with my mission in helping bring joy to people’s lives by opening my new pet store called Pawsome Pups LLC, located just down the street where I grew up on East Blake street and in the same neighborhood as my wife’s High School Whetstone – as you can see Columbus is in our blood.

Pawsome Pups is not something I’m doing to make money, it’s something I genuinely love doing and I feel I was born to do this. I can’t run from who I am. And I won’t run from who I am. I have another business that’s very successful, but this is my passion. This is what I enjoy doing and it brings me great joy to pair up good families with adorable and healthy new best friends. It is my 100% commitment to making sure that every puppy in my care is healthy, happy, and loved.

True, I must cover expenses and pay my employees to run my pet store, but I do this because I want to, not because I must. It’s simply what makes me happy. My employees are treated with respect. They all get paid above minimum wage – a flat pay of $20/hr. No commission. No pressure to sell. Just honest, good people who I trust to take care of my customers and my doggies.

My wife and I are Brokers, this helps overhead and allows us to lower puppy sales, by cutting out the middleman, we can save money and give those savings directly to our consumers. We purchase our puppies from licensed USDA certified/inspected Breeders. All puppies are microchipped, vet checked, and carefully examined by us before purchasing.

Again, we do have to cover our expenses and will need to make profit by selling pups and pet products, but I said to myself, if I can break even the first business year and provide adorable healthy puppies to good individuals and families then I did my job.
